As Karla's husband thought deeply about his wife and her sudden uneasiness he recalled how they had met. He was in a bar and suddenly she walked in looking disheveled. No one noticed her but he did; she had that faraway look in her eyes and being an excon, he could tell that someone had done evil from their eyes and he was pretty sure she had done some bit of evil. She just stood there,  at the door of the bar not saying anything or talking to anyone and it was only when she was brushed on the shoulder by a drunk that she raised up her head high enough to show the blood stains under her chin. She was a mess and somehow he was attracted to her. So he got up and got to her,  took her out of the bar and she followed him saying nothing. They didn't talk about what brought her to the bar at all; some part of him doesn't want to know. It was her recent uneasy attitude that had made him to try to find out some more about her for she didn't say much and he married her nonethel...

Karla went on a long vacation after that incident only to return and find her daughter in the worse of shape because of the taunting. She decided she had had enough of all of it and went on to end it. She would find is what she had started many years back and this time,  she would make sure nothing lived to breathe. Her husband noticed some changes in her behaviour and felt that she was relapsing. Since he hadn't all the facts,  he decided to keep an eye on her.

Wendy came home for the fifth time crying again. This had to stop, Karla couldn't take it any longer. She was going to look for this Jay and teach him a lesson the next day at Wendy's school. When she got to the school, they were having a soccer game so she snaked through the seated guests trying to hear the name Jay. Her journey seemed futile and she went back home at the end of the game. While she was on her street, she seemed to have heard the , when she turned, there were two boys behind her and she recognised one of them.  It was that wretched family again. So he was the one bullying her daughter? Her skin began to turn red with anger. There was no husband here to hold her back, this boy was going to have it. She hurried up to separate herself from them and hid by a tree with a heavy branch in her hand. When they approached, somehow she missed him and since the branch was too heavy,  she fell because of her failed swing. The boys helped her up innocently but her bitterne...

Now that she was looking at them through her window, she could not deny the tempting wish that she should have killed him too. They look so happy and unaware but their blood wasn't innocent. She was beginning to be unsure of his unawareness of the past because she saw the way he often looked at her, it was weird... as if he knew... but he was just a baby at the time. Something happened in the days that followed that day, Karla's daughter often came home crying about being bullied by a kid named Jay. He said she was ugly just because she had early pimples and made her very insecure. The shy girl became even more shy and confined to herself and Karla was pai ned for her. She often wondered who the Jay might be.
