Since he didn't find a suitable course to choose in the Commerce field, Jake gave up on Mary. He had to accept defeat. Jake soon moved to another school, and so did Mary. One day while in his class, he got an exercise book from a classmate who happened to be Mary's neighbor. "Mary asked me to give you this note. She said you should copy your Chemistry note in here for her", Patience said. Perplexedly, Jake collected the book. So many thoughts ran through his mind. How can a student in the commerce class be taking Chemistry? It can never be, at least not in Nigeria. He was not sure he heard well, so he called Patience to make inquiries. Alas! He watches as a young boy like him is driven to school in a hummer jeep, while he walks to school in the Calabar rain. Apparently, they can't go to the same school. But then he may just be the future governor of the state or president of the country. Only time shall tell! She looks on and sees her mates all doing well in life. She didn't believe she would be living in her father's house at this age. She keeps wondering if she will ever leave. Her dream man may just be on the next street. Only time shall tell! Business hasn't been going well of late and he is beginning to contemplate taking the advice of his brother, to use fetish means. His integrity is being tested. The new business connection may just be lurking in the corner. Only time shall tell! We have found ourselves in unpleasant and challenging situations and we think the world has turned on us or life is unfair. The only thing that knows the truth is time.
