TWINED 4

Both Becky and Mike were now in the University running a preliminary program. Becky had come in with high expectations to be the best. She had drawn out a triangular life like the one her mother drew for her. Mike, well he just wanted to catch the fun and be like every regular guy. He would skip classes and miss test sometime. At first glance, Becky felt a connection between Mike and her. It wasn't like any other she had felt in the past. Her mother could lock her down but not her feelings, so she had had crushes on some guys. With Mike however, it was different and deeper. It felt like family and it was good for her. She saw Mike as the elder brother she never had. They soon found themselves in the same circle and the friendship began to grow. They shared almost the same cultural heritage, same passion and interests, and they were to study related courses. These were just signs of good things to come.

OLD 4 (THE END)

He wasn't at all sure of how he'd deal with the news in the letter. Everything was happening so fast and he knew he was finished for sure. The last thought that crossed his mind was of sweet Danyl; her peaceful smile. She didn't know what life was was or what it had in store for her,  she was going to grow into it like the rose does in the sun. When he woke up, he realised that he had fallen beside his rocking chair. Perhaps he thought he was going to fall into it when he did. After freshening up,  he dressed his best and went out to where it was going to happen: his old shop. There it stood,  like a moment in time. In his eyes,  he saw it as it once was and not as these crazy demolishing crew saw it. It was a beauty,  how could they not see it? He watched the old process with deep pain and regret. He saw all his life shatter in less than an hour,  the smiles and sweat that went into building it up were no where to be found. He wasn't going to cry,...

BACK HOME 5 (THE END)

Hana had finally made it to the hospital where her father was kept. He had been ill for a while and received letters from the hospital telling her to visit him as it would help him get better but she only posted the bill payments to the hospital. She never wanted to see him again. But now,  his condition seemed critical and it seemed like he was going to pass on so she decided to pay her respects, after all he was her father. When she got to his room and saw him lying there helpless, she was filled with bitter rage against him. He took her childhood from her and has lived to an old age. He marred her conscience and has enjoyed his free will. She hated every bit of him. She wished he died by her hands wrapped round his neck so tight that his throat would squeeze in her grip. But she reminded herself that this was not His way, it was not to be her way as well. She got to his bed side, he looked peaceful. Why wouldn't he be? He has had his cake and has eaten it, and he is about to e...

OLD 3

The voice giggled. Oh he was surely gone now! At the risk of confirming his doubts he called out to the voice. " Hello. Who's there?" "Hi, I'm Danyl . I brought some cookies for you. We moved in next to you yesterday so I thought to bring you my mom's best cookies". He let out a sigh of relief and went to the door. She was a really beauty,  her eyes were so warm it warmed up the insides of his body. Children do give life. He took the cookies, thanked her,  said goodbye and went back to his chair. He was smiling now, though he didn't realise it. He had forgotten all about his misery and was now focused on little Danyl and her mom's cookies. She was such a joy. His teeth were far more than retired from active duty but something about Danyl made him take a bite. He was glad he did. The next day,  he was in high spirits and was determined to go over and thank Danyl's mother for the cookies but something happened. He received a letter that w...

OLD 2

The sun wasn't burning as much as it used to or was he the one not feeling it's heat? He sat on his rocking chair with his face to the window. He recalled how beautiful the trees were in the fall and how his wife would make him sit outside with her. " the good life!"  is what she called it. Oh,  Sharyl , what a sweet soul,   he thought. She never let anything bother her no matter how serious it turned out to be." Life is too short to spend it worrying about things,  especially those things you have no power to control" she often said to him. But he never listened, he never listened and that was his problem. He never listened to her. He didn't listen to her enough, didn't make her smile enough,  didn't love her enough, didn't serve her enough. His little Shop had taken the best part of him and she had to be left with the worse part. " Oh Sharyl , you knew me too well. You never got upset with me. You knew me too well" he let out a...

TWINED 3

Unlike Becky, Mike grew in a more tolerant home. His father was a military man. A disciplinarian he was but was not always around. His mother was very lenient and had her hands full taking care of eight children (six of which were boys) all by herself. She was concerned about them not getting in trouble but never stopped them from going out of the house. Even if she stopped them they wouldn't stay. Boys will always be boys. Mike, the youngest of the boys and his elder brothers were more like a squad. They would go clubbing, swimming and gaming together. Usually they get into fights with rival groups and may get injured in the process. Fights that had just one subject - GIRLS! Mike had a nice physique and an embedded gentility in his rough nature. He was quite intelligent too, with a great knowledge of Mathematics. He had spent over four years out of high school and was waiting to get into the University. He had reluctantly picked an application form for a Pre-degree program in t...
