OLD 4 (THE END)

He wasn't at all sure of how he'd deal with the news in the letter. Everything was happening so fast and he knew he was finished for sure. The last thought that crossed his mind was of sweet Danyl; her peaceful smile. She didn't know what life was was or what it had in store for her,  she was going to grow into it like the rose does in the sun.
When he woke up, he realised that he had fallen beside his rocking chair. Perhaps he thought he was going to fall into it when he did.
After freshening up,  he dressed his best and went out to where it was going to happen: his old shop. There it stood,  like a moment in time. In his eyes,  he saw it as it once was and not as these crazy demolishing crew saw it. It was a beauty,  how could they not see it?
He watched the old process with deep pain and regret. He saw all his life shatter in less than an hour,  the smiles and sweat that went into building it up were no where to be found. He wasn't going to cry,  he had no energy to do so.
After the crew had left, he was at a loss on what to do. His old mind wasn't working correctly. He started to pick out something, nothing, everything in the rubble. He was going crazy for sure but just then,  someone joined him. It was Danyl. Her little hands worked through the rubble with his and got whatever he seemed to want. Little did she know that this little gesture of hers in the midst of onlookers did a whole lot to him.
Some weeks passed and Danyl's mother heard a knock on her door. It was the old man's lawyer. He'd come to read out the portion of the old man's will that pertained to little Danyl. Little did they know that the old man had a huge insurance package on his shop and his life. That package was now Danyls'.
THE END.
