ABOUT THE DROUGHT 7

Image
As his feelings grew,  it became more difficult for him to keep away from her so he went against himself and became friends with her. As the years went by,  they became even more closer. They could hardly do without each other's company. Their parents saw this and we're pleased. But as their love bloomed, something bad was in the air. Olly felt it, like a short wind passed by his nose. He perceived it but he doubted it.

QUICK ENCOURAGEMENT

Hi there! Just saw this picture and it struck me. So I'm sharing it with you. They say that the darkest hour of the night is the one just before dawn. Don't give up even if it were your only option. Cheers!

THE GROWING YEARS: NAUGHTY JAKE

Image
Almost everyone have a record of a mischievous act in their growing years. Jake was no exception. He had a list of coups and they were mostly successful because he was an excellent plotter. A neighbour in Jake's compound had a visitor once. The visitor had come with his girlfriend to spend the weekend. Jake was displeased by the fact that the visitor and his girlfriend were not married and they were parading the compound doing some ' smushy and lovy dovy ' stuffs. The infuriated Jake wrote a hate note and pasted it on the neighbour's door while they were away. He was very careful not to be seen by anyone. The neighbour's girlfriend came back and saw the note on the door. She read through and saw the insults Jake had rained on their friends. A little girl had informed her that she had seen Jake pasting the note on their door. The young lady raced into the compound to finish Jake. Find out what happened to Jake on Thursday next week!

ABOUT THE DROUGHT 6

She was more beautiful than any other lady in the whole university and she was quite intelligent. Olly knew it from the first time he heard her speak up in class. She bedazzled him; he was helpless before her. He ventured to speak to her one day but his tongue went on a vacation. She just smiled warmly at him when she sensed his shyness. Her smile tore apart his insides. It felt like a surgeon's knife cut through his stomach. He didn't understand why and how he felt so he confided in his Papa. Papa was pleased to know that something other than seclusion was happening to Olly. He saw the childish amazement that liking someone brought to his boy and he couldn't help but tell Olly his own story. Olly's mama had had a more forceful effect on his Papa. Olly's papa had always been shy. Instead of making new friends or talking to someone, he'd prefer doing nothing.  She came like fire to him. She gave him no breathing space. He didn't know how she knew that he ...

ABOUT THE DROUGHT 5

Image
There was something about the University that reminded him of mama. The smell of daffodils, the garden scent and yet he did not know how or why. It was later on in the year that he understood why. She was pretty,  really pretty. And it's like she lives or works on a farm because she smelled of daffodils. She had a cute smile and a graceful nature about her. The sound of her laughter was so sweet. Olly just watched her,  observed her and liked her.

ABOUT THE DROUGHT 4

The drought had long gone but it did more harm than eat up their crops and render a once pleasant land useless,  it scarred Olly. Olly had to grow up with the night mares and a depressed father. His teenage years where not in any way fun. He spent most of his time all by himself and his father who had become very protective of him. The years went by without anything different to heal their wounds or to take away the memory of mama. Olly went on to the university for a degree in law and seemed to be doing very well. Papa had had a big break on the farm and they were doing quite well but there was always the hurt beneath the surface. Papa started drinking and became more engrossed in his work on the farm. Olly didn't like it but the alcohol seemed a better evil than having Papa depressed and suicidal. Olly never saw him look at another woman,  Papa kept to himself and did more of supervising the workers on the farm; he also talked to mama late into the night until there was n...
