ABOUT THE DROUGHT 4
The drought had long gone but it did more harm than eat up their crops and render a once pleasant land useless, it scarred Olly.
Olly had to grow up with the night mares and a depressed father. His teenage years where not in any way fun. He spent most of his time all by himself and his father who had become very protective of him.
The years went by without anything different to heal their wounds or to take away the memory of mama.
Olly went on to the university for a degree in law and seemed to be doing very well. Papa had had a big break on the farm and they were doing quite well but there was always the hurt beneath the surface. Papa started drinking and became more engrossed in his work on the farm. Olly didn't like it but the alcohol seemed a better evil than having Papa depressed and suicidal. Olly never saw him look at another woman, Papa kept to himself and did more of supervising the workers on the farm; he also talked to mama late into the night until there was no more whisky.
