ABOUT THE DROUGHT 6

She was more beautiful than any other lady in the whole university and she was quite intelligent. Olly knew it from the first time he heard her speak up in class. She bedazzled him; he was helpless before her. He ventured to speak to her one day but his tongue went on a vacation. She just smiled warmly at him when she sensed his shyness. Her smile tore apart his insides. It felt like a surgeon's knife cut through his stomach.
He didn't understand why and how he felt so he confided in his Papa.
Papa was pleased to know that something other than seclusion was happening to Olly. He saw the childish amazement that liking someone brought to his boy and he couldn't help but tell Olly his own story.
Olly's mama had had a more forceful effect on his Papa. Olly's papa had always been shy. Instead of making new friends or talking to someone, he'd prefer doing nothing.  She came like fire to him. She gave him no breathing space. He didn't know how she knew that he liked her,  she just came at him and she practically did all the work for him.
