ABOUT THE DROUGHT 8

There was no warning at all. No sign,  no clue. It just happened in a flash and Olly had to relive his fears. He was shocked at the spate of it all and the trend that had formed. It seemed as though when a good thing was set to happen in his life,  something sinister would take all the attention.
He saw all the people present but didn't hear any of them. They came to him with sad faces,  making it look as though they felt what he felt. Their pats on his shoulder and words of encouragement didn't get his attention. The only thing that could get his attention now was if papa stormed out of the coffin in which he lay lifeless.
Lily was with him all the way. She held his hand and wiped the tears that rolled down his cheeks. She had been a great help to him but she could not replace any of them.
Papa had slept into death leaving Olly with a fortune to face the world. He now recalled that he saw the signs in his father's behaviour, though transient but they were there. Papa had, some months before he died,  began to tell Olly about all his estate, how to supervise the workers on the farm and how to do many other things. He kept saying "you'll never know when your time is up, best prepare for the future Olly boy".  Those words resounded over and over again in Olly's head till the day was over.
