ACCEPTANCE (THE END)
Uncle Lanre was the worse. When he was bounced around by his mother’s family to stay with uncle Lanre, somewhere in his heart, he hoped that uncle Lanre would be the father he never had but that wasn’t the case. Uncle Lanre was the worse for when he got high on alcohol or anger, he’d call him a bastard.
That B word that he had never gotten used to.
He couldn’t deny that he sometimes nursed the thoughts of killing uncle Lanre while he was intoxicated and shamelessly lying bare on his room floor but he needed the man to help him through school.
He moved out of his uncle’s house as soon as he received an offer to study in the university and had never set foot in his uncle’s house since then. Not even when he heard that he was ill and asked to see him.
Rejection was all he’d known all his life. No one wanted him, no one loved him. Only his grandma had shown him some love but died before her work could take root in his life. He hated the thought of being rejected and so he swore never to put himself in a position to be rejected until Sandra.
Sandra! Sandra!! She’d taken his fragile heart and given it back to him. She had rejected the only thing he could ever give to anyone. She had rejected him.
When she had said No to his proposal, he heard his father and uncle’s voices again in his head. “Bastard!!! He is not my son!” they grew louder and louder until he decided to deafen them. The only problem was that by the time he was done deafening them. The love of his life was lying unconscious on her living room floor.
“The love of his life.” He was so taken by her ever since the day they met. He saw how she looked at him, he knew from then that she wanted him. But she threw the first punch when she rejected his proposal. He knew that what he did to her was wrong, he even went to see her in the hospital and saw her asleep with Tobe watching her like a hawk.
Tobe! He knew Tobe always had feelings for her, he was just never bold enough. Tobe’s feelings for her was the reason why he didn’t tell him that he was going to propose to her. He was sure that Tobe would try to dissuade him.
He knew Tobe or Sandra would be on the lookout for him so he made himself scarce: he worked out a transfer, moved out of town, bought a wedding ring and changed his looks. To everyone, his beloved wife Sandra, died in a car accident which left him so broken that could never love another. This lie endeared him to many single ladies. If only they knew.
The end.
Storyline is screaming for a sequel..
