The note read...


“…that she would finally realize that You’ve been the one behind her, guiding and keeping her. That she’d know that it was You who brought us together, that it was You who first fell in love with her and accepted ever before I ever knew her name. Help her know that it was You who told me to open my eyes to see her that night at the camp site. It was You who helped me love her despite that she hadn’t accepted You. Help her know that it was You, it’s been You and it’ll always be You who loves her even more than I ever can. May she find the peace she has been searching for in You.”
She was mad at him. Mad to the moon. He knew that she was never ever interested in all that. She crumpled the piece of paper in her hand, found her pen knife, turned to the back of the cross so the security guards on patrol wouldn’t see what she was about to do. Behind the cross, she stumbled and almost fell when she held onto the cross. When she steadied herself, she let go of the cross and found her name carved into the cross with her husband’s initials. The knife fell from her hand while she stood there in awe. Underneath her name were the words “let your blood be enough”....
