WHAT IF IT'S THE END 😁
It was now Amiya's turn and with one breath she asked for death. The band were amazed, they seemed to have met someone who asked for death for the first time in all their killings. The man with the sword smiled wryly at her and asked her to get up but she refused, she was determined to end all her night mares today. She shut her eyes and screamed "kill me now!" but there was no action, no response, no blood, and no death. They had all gone, none was left. She was speechless. Everything seemed to have happened in a flash. Or did she shut her eyes for a long time? She rubbed her eyes with her hands and realised that she was in her bedroom. The ceiling stared back at her and her little son played in the corner. She didn't understand what was going on so she called her son to find out how long she had slept. He told her that she had been asleep for a short while but that she had been very restless.
It was dinner time and as they sat down to eat, her husband informed her that some infidels had been killed in the neighboring town earlier that day. This news hit Amiya like a bolt of lightning and then it became clearer to her. She and her family were not of the infidel sect, they were among those charged to cleanse the land of infidels and so have their people been doing for many years. She saw nothing wrong with it and often commended the band of men that went out to carry out the cleansing; infidels could not be tolerated, their faith must change or they die, until today. The series of dreams made her ask herself what if the tables were turned and she, her family and her community were those referred to as infidels?, what if she were the mother whose children were slaughtered before her eyes?, what if she were the one restricted from worshipping or carrying out her beliefs?, what if she were the one suffering for the sake of her religion?, what if she were the one not allowed to openly be herself? , what if her little son was the one dismembered just because he was born into a particular group? What if....
