YOU CAN IF YOU WILL

As I listened to Cobham Asuquo at a TED Talk and then his song titled Ordinary People, I began to wonder the way his parent must have felt to have a blind child. More so, I wondered how he felt to be the only blind child among six children. The depression must have weighed more than a thousand tonne. One of the greatest asset humans have is sight (our eyes). Being in a very dark room can be so frustrating, then imagine not being able to see the blue sky, the flowers and trees, the bright colors in nature, the beautiful face of your mother, wife, child and this is forever. It is quite agonizing.

What would have happened if Cobham had been sunken in this misery and became overtaken by self pity? He may have never become a great song writer and singer, a lawyer and an inspiration to many.

We are all faced with circumstances and what becomes of us is what we make of those circumstances. Someone had jokingly said: If life throws pepper at you, use it to make pepper soup. The idea is to turn your pain to gain.

You may be in a 'disadvantaged position'  and may be feeling sorry for yourself when what you are to do is to see the advantage in that position and make the best of your life. Man is a shaper of his destiny, and the will is a great tool used in doing this. So don't just sit there and cry, steer your will in the right direction and get your life moving.

HAVE A BLESSED WEEK!
