SOMETHING SINISTER 10(THE END)
Here's what Mark found when he searched the house. He first found droppings of some kind. They were many and they were everywhere; in the wardrobe, shoe cabinet, kitchen, everywhere. Especially in places where they didn't clean very often. He also found some of the former occupants' things. They were sticky and old but he was still yet to find the boogeyman.
He decided to search through the roof of the house and that's where he got the shock of his life. They were cats! Just cats!! They lived in the roof and came down when no one was around. He found a crack in the ceiling that let them in and found that when some part of the ceiling was stepped upon, it made a tick/tuck sound.
He came down from the the roof and sat on the sofa laughing at himself and at his wife. "There was no boogeyman", he told Jane. "The only boogeyman in this house is just our imagination".
Finally freed from their mental prison, the couple decided to live in peace. The cats were not easy to live with but they did nonetheless. They served as a great help against rodents.
