OLD 2

The sun wasn't burning as much as it used to or was he the one not feeling it's heat?
He sat on his rocking chair with his face to the window. He recalled how beautiful the trees were in the fall and how his wife would make him sit outside with her. " the good life!"  is what she called it. Oh,  Sharyl, what a sweet soul,  he thought. She never let anything bother her no matter how serious it turned out to be."Life is too short to spend it worrying about things,  especially those things you have no power to control" she often said to him. But he never listened, he never listened and that was his problem. He never listened to her. He didn't listen to her enough, didn't make her smile enough,  didn't love her enough, didn't serve her enough. His little Shop had taken the best part of him and she had to be left with the worse part. "Oh Sharyl, you knew me too well. You never got upset with me. You knew me too well" he let out a sorrowful groan and was about to be miserable when he heard a voice outside the window. It sounded like the voice of a little girl. "Was he crazy already? Dana had passed on but why was he hearing a voice like hers? Dementia!!!!! I think that's the name. The doctor might have been right! I'm finished for sure!"  he said aloud to himself.
