EPIC SONNETS OF THE GREAT 3
3
THE TZAR, JEREMIAH- SONNET
What is this noisome rumpus devastating the Lord’s forest?
It is the Iroko that comes, spitting like a wounded viper.
The ancient dragon has not seen such a fire. It is the recking truth,
Towering above the reckage of a surmounted kingdom of austerity.
Shagari christened a measure in his Republic; but lost.
This austerity of the tzar is to cocoon famine in carnage’s can.
This Iroko banished his background in the face of war.
He fought like a lion to preserve his pride.
The war is over. He won!
He needs no shoulder to climb to chant his magnificat.
He towers above the mountains.
Jerry the Iroko, tzar of his world.
Tame your ambition under God’s sky.
Let the result of Satan’s pride teach you aright.
