SOMETHING SINISTER 4

Mark wanted to laugh,  he was really fighting it hard. He felt the tears well up in his eyes as she told him about her self-inflicted terror but he pushed them back. She really believed what she was saying for she spoke in a convincing manner. Just imagine what a mixture of fear and a wild imagination can do to someone. He giggled a little and covered it up by pretending to clear his throat.
All he could say to her was to be calm and he assured her of her safety. That did the trick because her mood returned to normal again.
There was something on his mind. Though he knew that to appear to believe Jane would help her calm down, but an admittance of her claim of a ghost or "person in the house" would only scare her to death, he just couldn't help but shudder at the thought that what she said might be true. There was going to be no more late nights for him.
