SOMETHING SINISTER 5
The days went by unroused. The couple lived simply and sweetly together enjoying each others company. The scare of the boogeyman was gone and Jane felt foolish for telling Mark, for to him, she became the boogeylady.
Jane had planned a visit to her parents and was too leave in a weeks time. She used what little time she had to prepare different meals for Mark because he couldn't find his way around the kitchen to save his life. She did her best with them and stocked the refrigerator up with them. She labelled all of them and put stick notes around the whole house so the house would look like one by the time she returned.
She was exhausted by the time it was bedtime and they both collapsed on the bed. Somewhere in the middle of the night there was a tick, a little tuck and then a really loud crackling. Mark was the first to wake up but he pretended to be asleep so Jane would wake up to check out the noise. Jane just lay there with her eyes wide open and her fears intact.
Soon, the noise stopped and they slumbered. It was only a few minutes later when they felt something on both their legs. It felt like a grip, a warm grip. Goose pimples were all over Mark, and Jane let out a scream. By the time the lights came on, it was gone. They found nothing. The room was the way it was when they went to bed.
No doubt Mark now believed her and he now carried on her fears as his own. As for Jane, she moved up her trip and was gone the day after.
